About Our Department The City of Lake Station ambulance began servicing the City residents approximately 30 years ago. Lake Station Ambulance took a step forward in 2005. The service went from Basic Life support to Advanced Life Support . Our interventions went from general well being of the public to life saving cardiac and trauma resuscitation efforts. With the advancement into the Advanced Life support Service, the City has Paramedics trained to give top of the line medical care. We now bring the emergency room to you. We are very fortunate to have very qualified paramedics and emt’s employed with the City. We currently have 15 Paramedics employed along with 17 Emergency Medical Technicians. We are currently putting the City Employees through CPR classes and will hopefully open it up soon to the Public. We are having a City Public Outing Event on August 23, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. I would encourage all to attend, if possible. Medflight (a medical helicopter) will be in attendance. We will be doing free blood pressures as well as extrication scenarios. There will also be someone from the State of Indiana Child Seat Program in attendance. Hope to see everyone soon.
