City of Lake Station Police Department Records - Hours of Operation

The available hours to process or request any administrative record services within the Lake Station Police Department will be from Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Closed Saturday and Sunday.

Requests for Handgun Permits will ONLY be available on Tuesday through Wednesday 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Services within dispatch division will no longer be accepted, excluding bond payments.  Any questions or concerns can be directed to the Lake Station Police Department at 962-1186 or email: cguillen@lakestation-in.gov.

Employment Opportunities

Probationary Patrol Officer

The Lake Station Police Department will be accepting applications for Probationary Patrol Officer from now thru August 5th 2015 @ 4pm. The written test and physical agility will be administered on August 14th 2015. All applicants will first take the physical agility test at 8am and then those who pass the physical agility test will return at noon to take the written test.   

    All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements established by the City of Lake Station:

  • U.S. citizenship;  

  • No felony convictions (Note: a misdemeanor or serious traffic offense may also disqualify applicants from further consideration);

  • Valid state-issued driver's license;

  • Minimum of 21 years of age AND shall be under the age of 36 at time of job offer;

  • Be a high school graduate or possess a G.E.D. equivalent;

  • Must successfully complete a physical agility test (administered to all applicants on the same date as the written exam August 14, 2015);

  • Must successfully complete a background investigation (applicants will be required to fully disclose all personnel matters, to include agreements and sealed files);

  • Must successfully complete an oral interview;

  • Must successfully complete a psychological evaluation, medical physical (including drug and alcohol screening), and Voice Stress Analysis;

  • Pay a $25.00 non-refundable application process fee.
